Thank You for the Cross

Charles Spurgeon:
But here is the joy, here is the peace of Christians, that our salvation is a finished one! We have not a farthing to pay to complete the ransom of our souls. We have not a stitch to set to finish the robe of our salvation. We have not an act to perform, a prayer to offer, a tear to weep, a thought to think in order to finish the work of our redemption! I know that all these things shall be worked in us and, that by the Spirit of God we shall be made to do them — but all that shall not be with any view to the completion of our salvation — that was finished in the Person of the bleeding Lamb of Calvary! . . .
Either Christ completed all that was necessary for your salvation, or he did not! If he did finish it, then rest in him and be glad, and say, "I am secure forever because my salvation is finished. I have nothing to do but to live to the honor of him who has completely saved me by his Grace, his blood, his righteousness.

It's been crazy busy and I can't wait to blog more... about life that could only be with Him, about how He has blessed me so much. I am so excited for tomorrow when I can once again worship Him with my spiritual family and learn about His Word!
And yes, it took me awhile to get over failing once again at my driving test because I just didn't need yet another blow to my still-hurting self-esteem. I mean, I thought I had taken enough of stumbling here and there... But the fact stands that God is faithful even when I'm not (2 Tim. 2:13). He is faithful in holding on to me, shaping and molding me, humbling me, and transforming me to be more like Christ. Yes, I can cling onto Him but I fail again and again. My pride gets the better of me so often. And so, I thank Him for these hard lessons, these drawing-me-closer-to-Him afflictions...
1Thess. 5:23-24
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
And I am so blessed to have my family who loves me unconditionally (besides the fact that I am their family =P), and to have this other super-encourager who always always points me back to Christ, to take comfort in Him and not him. People sometimes think that he's playing the guitar to serenade me but no, he's playing to worship Him together with me! While I was whining and pouting and in self-pity, he made me open my mouth and sing with him this:
"Jesus loves me this I know
for the Bible tells me so
little ones to Him belong
they are weak but He is strong.
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
for the Bible tells me so."
How crazily blessed can I be?

Once again, let us look to Him our blessed living Hope! Him who paid it all!
...
and this was such a great reminder!
