being born again

I just started reading Finally Alive (John Piper). Sanderz and I are going to read it together =D (Phil recommended the book =))
bible passages mentioned so far ...

For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable, through the living and enduring word of God. 24For,
"All men are like grass,
and all their glory is like the flowers of the field;
the grass withers and the flowers fall,
25but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you.
~1 Peter 1:23-25
blessed assurance

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
~Romans 8:30
God’s drawing us to Christ

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
~2 Cor. 5:17
God’s effectual calling

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, and I will raise him up at the last day.
~John 6:44
the new creation

All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
~John 6:37
God’s giving people to his Son

One of those listening was a woman named Lydia, a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to respond to Paul's message.
~Acts 16:14
God’s opening our hearts

For God, who said, "Let light shine out of darkness,"made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.
~2 Cor. 4:6
God’s illumining our hearts

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
~Ezek. 36:26
God’s taking the heart of stone out and giving us a heart of flesh

4But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved.
~Eph. 2:5
God’s making us alive

For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father."
~Rom. 8:15
God’s adopting us into his family

Until we realize that we must be born again, and why we must be born again, we probably will not realize what our condition really is without salvation. ~Finally Alive, John Piper
