You are amazing

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. ~ James 1: 17 (NIV)

Today is one of the days when the hymn "Amazing Grace" keeps playing in my head. To be able to share God's love with a friend, with the hope that one day, he might truly come to know God and what He has done for us. Indeed, to not be "ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes" (Romans 1:16)!

11Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience. ¹² We are not commending ourselves to you again but giving you cause to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast about outward appearance and not about what is in the heart. ¹³For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. ¹⁴For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; ¹⁵and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised. ~ 2 Cor. 5:11-15 (ESV)

It doesn't have to be that we see the conviction by the Spirit and the change of heart right away... because in the end, we can rest assured in God's sovereignty in salvation - "God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden." (Romans 9:18).
But the fact that there might have been... praise God!

God is gracious beyond measure. And we really don't need to look any further for an affirmation of that than at the cross, where the greatest display of His love for us was shown through Jesus Christ, paid the price for the sins of the whole world so that God's wrath on us, who have all sinned and fall short of His glory, may be fully satisfied.

Amazing grace.
Shouldn't it be that if we truly believe in Him, we'd worship Him with everything that is in us?
Not just during the good or bad times, if we see results or not.
For we were made to worship Him.
And if we are the temple of God, our whole being really should be crying out "Glory!" just as it says in Psalm 29:

¹Ascribe to the LORD, O heavenly beings,
ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
²Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name;
worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness.

³The voice of the LORD is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders,
the LORD, over many waters.
⁴The voice of the LORD is powerful;
the voice of the LORD is full of majesty.

⁵The voice of the LORD breaks the cedars;
the LORD breaks the cedars of Lebanon.
⁶He makes Lebanon to skip like a calf,
and Sirion like a young wild ox.

⁷The voice of the LORD flashes forth flames of fire. ⁸The voice of the LORD shakes the wilderness;
the LORD shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.

⁹The voice of the LORD makes the deer give birth
and strips the forests bare,
and in his temple all cry, "Glory!"

¹⁰The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD sits enthroned as king forever.
¹¹May the LORD give strength to his people!
May the LORD bless his people with peace!
